How long have you been doing CrossFit?
Favourite (cheat) meal?
Favourite cross-training exercise?
I love contact and team sports like rugby, football, soccer as well as striking, Muay Thai and boxing. Crossfit has put me in the best shape of my life and with the strength & conditioning that it has given me I enjoy trying new sports to see how far it can take me. As a complement to Crossfit, I do try to do a lot of Hot yoga as well as Yin and Power Flow Vinyasa classes to lengthen these tight, old muscles
What are three things to do in everyday life that you believe contributes most to your overall health?
I think one of the most important things you can do for yourself is begin your day with gratitude.
Second, spend your days engaged in fitness, movement and creativity.
Third, lots of coffee.
How has CrossFit changed your life?
I am a teacher by trade and have worked with children with special needs and various developmental disabilities so I have been a witness to the most hardworking individuals on a day to day basis. These kids put in 30-40 hours a week of therapy and intervention to help them progress and achieve their highest potential. As a Crossfit trainer, I am very honoured to witness the same hard work, dedication and overall transformation of people coming in day after day. Ordinary people trying to live their best lives and be the best versions of themselves for themselves and for those they love. I think that is the most amazing thing to witness; people in pursuit of something greater than what they are and what they have now, people believing that there is no limit to potential and that there is no expiry date on becoming who /what they want to be.
Crossfit has changed my life in the sense that it has solidified my belief and commitment to my craft and mission, I want to motivate & guide humans, big & small, to live a healthy life of movement, wellness, positivity and resilience.
Fitness goal for this year
To be a well-rounded athlete, I just want to improve on my skills and get stronger and prep for the next 1.5 years to be in the best shape I can possibly be for the Masters division 40-44.
